This project primarily concentrates on the histology and morphology of cells and for us to learn and appreciate the usefulness of the light and fluorescence microscope. The histology and morphology of the cells is simply the visual description of how the cells look using the light microscope. We will be introduced to the optical set-up of the instrument and how it works.
This topic of Staining Liver Tissue Cells is a fascinating and mind-blowing one! We did 3 amazing experiments that include Histochemical Staining, which allows will the user to identify the nucleus and cytoplasm thorough the use of dyes(Hematoxylin and Eosin, H&E Dyes), Immunohistochemical Staining, which allows the user through the use of antibodies, to locate the antigens(Eg.Proteins). The last, but not least one, is the Fluorescent Staining which allowed the user, with the help of a highly advanced Light Microscope to detect the nucleus found in the liver Tissues!
